Groveport

Groveport Ohio real estate, homes and school information

Downtown Groveport

General - What's in a name? Ask residents of Groveport and they'll tell you the history of a town. The area was originally two settlements, Wert's Grove and Rarey's Port. In the mid 1800's both settlements were growing at the same rate vying for the status of a town. As the two settlements grew together, representatives from both areas decided to get together and form a town, but the two groups could not decide on a name. Finally in an 1847 meeting, the local doctor proposed combining the two settlement names into the name Groveport. Upon the agreement of the settlers the town of Groveport came into being. Since that time Groveport has grown steadily, but remains small in comparison to many of Central Ohio's other suburbs.

Fairchild Estates  New homes can be purchased from $160,000 to $250,000, which makes it an affordable place for new home buyers and first time home buyers.

Neighborhoods - If your looking to find an inexpensive home in the Central Ohio Area, Groveport is a great place to start your search. Recent expansion of commercial and residential property has made the area an attractive place to live, and traditional homes can be found at a reasonable price. Neighborhoods such as Walnut Crossing and Fairchild Estates represent new development in the area, and homes along Main Street in the center of Groveport are good examples of older housing that exists in the area. Country living and value make Groveport an attractive choice for Central Ohio living.
